Why Study the Book of Revelation?

“All Scripture is God breathed and therefore useful”…2 Timothy 3:16

Every book in the Bible is important, but the book of Revelation, as the last book of the Bible, provides us with the consummation and climax of God’s revelation. It is the gathering area for all the great truths found in the rest of Scripture, many of which have their beginning in Genesis. It is God’s final word to humanity. This in itself makes this book tremendously significant.

But the most important element of the book is that it is a special revelation of Jesus Christ Himself, anticipating the glory of His coming back for his true church and His final victory over the forces of darkness and evil so prominent in the world today.

³ Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near Revelation 1:3

Revelation is special because, “it is not a book about the future…”
