You Shall Receive Power

C:\Users\Kyle\Desktop\untitled.png

We have all received God’s Good News of Jesus Christ in order to share that Good News with others. The Good news is called the Gospel and sharing it is what we call our mission.
Here’s the amazing part about our mission: God has put the future of reaching the world in our hands. He’s called us to be life changers --- history makers!
So where do we start to be life changers to be history makers?
Let’s look in the history book of the New Testament.. The Book of Acts-The Acts of the Apostles… 28 Chapters compiled by the Gospel writer Luke. Acts is the history of the first century church at work in an expansion in ever-widening circles. Listen to the promise Jesus gives to His disciples:
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. And you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:7-8
Jesus promised his apostles real, supernatural power… to do what? To overthrown Roman Rule? NO. To gain wealth, fame and position?  NO. He promised them, as he in turn promises us that we would receive power from His Holy Spirit … TO BE HIS WITNESSES…
Throughout the rest of this week we will look at this power packed verse to see three  places and people groups Jesus commands us to reach out to with the Good News  and how we can empowered by His Spirit to go about being a life changing, history making church.
Your pastor and partner in ministry,
Kyle
