There are more promises in the Bible about giving than about any other subject.
Here are just a couple of them:
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
While most of us no longer have to walk miles to gather our food, the message is still applicable today. We might not grow our own grain, but we still reap what we sow. If we sow love, generosity, and good deeds, God will bless us with these things even more. He has promised this in His word, and even challenges us test his promise.
1 Timothy 6:18-19 “Use your money to do good…always being ready to share with others whatever God has given you. By doing this you will be storing up real treasure for yourselves in heaven—it is the only safe investment for eternity! And you will be living a fruitful Christian life down here as well.”
Generosity shows that we have placed our trust in God, not in our money, for security.
