GROW UP!

God wants us to grow up. He wants us to grow in our spiritual maturity and become like Christ.  

God’s will for His children is that we stop crawling and start walking with Him. You know, babies are cute, but if babies stay babies, it would be tragic. Ever see a really immature adult? It is not what God’s design is.  God wants us to mature and develop, and what does spiritual mature Christian look like?  Just take a long look at Jesus Christ.  

Now I know what you are thinking. “Jesus was perfect, I can never be perfect. That’s true. God doesn’t expect you to be perfect but He does expect you to walk with Him through a  spiritual maturity process. This process is called “discipleship”, and it takes an entire lifetime. To know Him, deepen your love for Him, follow Him more closely than   It’s going to take the rest of your life for God to build character in you, the character qualities of Jesus Christ.  

How does God help me grow spiritually?  How does God make me like Jesus Christ?”  Well, there’s a couple ways we know right-off-the-bat.  We know He uses the Bible.  It takes God’s truth to transform us.

If you really want to grow up spiritually, you’ve got to get off spiritual milk and start eating some Bible for breakfast. The more you get into God’s word, the more you’re going to grow. When it comes to the Bible I challenge you to on a daily basis read it, study it, memorize it, meditate on it and apply it in your life. Here’s why. It takes the meat of God’s truth to transform us into the well developed body of Christ..
