You Were Created to Become Like Christ

Romans 8:29.  “For from the very beginning God decided that those who came to Him – and He knew who would – should become like His Son”. 

God’s plan has always been, from the very beginning to make you like His son Jesus Christ.   Don’t get me wrong, God doesn’t want you to become a god; He wants you to become godly.  He wants you to develop His character. He wants you to think the way He thinks. He wants you to feel what He feels. He wants you to act the way He acts, to acquire His values, to take on His moral character.

We all know that God sent His only begotten, sinless Son Jesus to die on a cross for us for the forgiveness of our sins. In addition God sent Jesus to live for us; to  show us how we can live with moral integrity in this sin-filled world. His example is what we should all aspire to. His character is what we should all strive to become like.

Throughout this week as a part of our “WE CAN’T STAY HERE” series we will be looking at what it means to “become like Jesus”.
