A Disciple Shares

C:\Users\Kyle\Desktop\Feb 16 Devo\DISCIPLE-Title-Slide-_001_jpg_001.jpg

This week we have learned that a disciple listens, loves, serves, sacrifices and today we see that a disciple shares.
"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." Mark 1:16-17
Jesus could have called anybody He wanted to be His first four disciples. i think he called fishermen for two reasons. First, fishermen don’t get discouraged when they don’t catch anything. I know people who love to fish, but if they go fishing and don’t catch anything, they’re not going to leave their boat the water and say, “I quit.” I think Jesus may have called fishermen because He knew they wouldn’t quit.
And second, fishermen are not afraid to fish in new waters. We have new waters all around us. We have brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers who may not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, and yet we focus on others and wait for someone else to reach our family. Jesus said that He would make us fishers of men, but if we don’t put our hooks in the water, we’re not going to catch anything. In the Church today, we’re not putting our lines in the water.
At the Celebration we create lots of little ponds where you can put your hooks out to fish for men and women.  Do you know someone with children… Go-Fish Children’s ministry… Teens… CrossCurrent Youth.. College… Encounter.  A couple who needs a marriage tune up… Unite Marriage ministry… And THIS FOOTBALL SUNDAY,,,, put your hook in the water and INVITE A MAN to church with you.
Your pastor and partner in ministry,
Kyle
